| LG Electronics: Environment as its First Business Operation |

LG Electronics is operating an environment management system that meets international standards (ISO14001)
at all its workplaces in Korea. The system integrates safety and health management systems to maximize operations
efficiency. With the aim of continually improving itself, LG Electronics also conducts 3 EESH (Energy, Environment, Safety, Health)
inspections every year, using its own internal specialists to solidify its proactive mechanism. At the same time, it offers an IBL
(Internet-based Learning) course to management supervisors at its business locations and has established courses to train international
inspectors to develop EESH (Energy, Environment, Safety, Health) professionals who can inspect environment management systems like ISO14001 and
OHSAS18001.

Since 1996, LG Electronics has been adopting the concept of LCA (Life Cycle Assessment),
which assesses production's impact on the environment from the product development stages.
LCA identifies and quantifies pollutants emitted throughout the different stages of product development
for scientific analysis to explore any room for improvement. Along with the LCA activity, LG Electronics
has also implemented phased development of environmentally friendly products to take into account
waste output even from the design stage. Environmental protection has also become the top concern in parts supply.

Since waste created from the shortened life cycle of electronic products is emerging as a hot environmental issue,
LG Electronics is proactively reducing waste even from the design phase with staged implementation of DfE
(Design for Environment)-based development of environmentally friendly products.By opting for green materials
from the product design phase, LG Electronics is reducing sources for waste output from the initial stages.

In addition to our support of collection events across the country, LG Electronics has teamed with the
Electronic Industries Alliance to provide consumers with an interactive website to help them locate nearby
recycling facilities. EIA's Consumer Education Initiative helps consumers to easily find convenient nearby
collection sites and provides guidance other reuse and recycle options. By accessing the site at
http://www.eiae.org, consumers can type in their state in order to find a convenient recycling option.
